I was watching Treasury Questions earlier - the once a month Thursday session during which Osborne and Cable (and other MPs) get to 'grill' Darling about the state of the economy - and i thought it is high time the format was changed.
David Cameron gets to grill the Prime Minister once a week and has six questions to do so. George Osborne, on the other hand, gets to hold Darling to account just once a month and gets just two questions. Pathetic.
Surely it's time to make Treasury Questions once a week and give the Shadow Chancellor six questions so he can properly hold the Chancellor of the Exchequer to account? This is especially pertinent given the recession and the billions of pounds the government is spending on our behalf!
