Donate and save a life

I've just signed up to become a UK Transplant Donor. I had seen an article that triggered my move and I thought why not blog about it. After all, when we're all pushing up the daisies, what use will we have for our own organs? Moreover, you may one day depend on someone else's generosity...

Today more than 9,000 people in the UK need an organ transplant that could save or dramatically improve their life. Most are waiting for a kidney, others for a heart, lung or liver transplant. But less than 3,000 transplants are carried out each year.

You no longer need to hold a donor card. What is important is that you register and get on the NHS Organ Donor Register. To sign up, click here.

Only 25% of the UK population have signed the register. Do some good and sign up today.
