
Well you know it must be approaching the end of the financial year when councils start ripping up all our roads, causing huge disruption.
Some no doubt will claim it is all part of helping to stimulating the economy.
But of course that has nothing to do with it as they do the same thing every year, even during the 'boom' years.
All that is happening is that councils are frantically trying to justify their road budgets - for which they receive large sums from central government and therefore from us, poor old Joe Taxpayer.
If this was genuinely about improving our roads they should be able to plan moderate, spaced out road works throughout the course of the financial year. The fact that they tear up all our roads seemingly at once demonstrates this is purely about maintaining the same size budgets for next year!
